Wherobots Inc. seeks Staff Software Engineer in San Francisco, CA Job DutiesDesign and develop company’s Cloud data management solution. Use Java, Golang, and Python to build in-house services to enable cloud-based serverless geospatial data analytics at scale for the company’s customers and users. Contribute to the open-source project Apache Sedona, the core computing engine the company’s SaaS is based on, and its enterprise version WherobotsDB. Lead the development of the company’s computation applications orchestration system, which deploys and destroys the workloads for computation tasks to multiple regions. Utilize Temporal as the task distribution queue. Manage Kubernetes as the container orchestration cluster. Contribute to the company’s backend service development with Python Web Frameworks. Contribute to DevOps practices. Use Terraform to build the Infra-As-Code solution to avoid manual Infra manipulation. Integrate with GitHub Actions to enhance the service CI/CD experiences, using Python to write scripts, and Helm for Kubernetes resource templating and deployment. Serve on-call for the online services. Support the sales team to solve technical inquiries and feature requests from users. Inspect system logs, troubleshoot the errors, and hot-fixing the issues. Telecommuting is an option. Minimum RequirementsMaster’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or closely related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.
