Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lab Network Engineer III to design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot complex lab network environments that support development, testing, and validation of networking and systems software. This role requires strong hands-on expertise with networking technologies, lab infrastructure, automation, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable lab network topologies to support engineering, QA, and SRE teams
  • Configure and manage network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Support Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, VXLAN, and network virtualization
  • Troubleshoot complex network, hardware, and connectivity issues in lab environments
  • Automate lab provisioning, configuration, and validation using scripting and automation tools
  • Manage lab hardware lifecycle, including rack/stack, cabling, power, and inventory
  • Collaborate closely with software, systems, and test teams to enable efficient development and testing workflows
  • Document lab designs, procedures, and operational best practices
  • Participate in on-call or escalation support as needed for lab infrastructure

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering or lab infrastructure roles
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching concepts
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration
  • Experience with automation/scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting lab environments for networking or systems software development
  • Familiarity with container networking, virtualization (VMware, KVM), and cloud networking concepts
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks
  • Exposure to network security concepts and tools
  • Experience working across global teams and time zones

Level Expectations (Engineer III)

  • Operates independently on complex tasks
  • Drives lab design improvements and automation initiatives
  • Mentors junior engineers
  • Acts as a technical point of contact for lab networking

The annual base pay for this position is: $120,800.00 - $181,200.00
