Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Software Engineer II (SE-II) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure and robust applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all systems operate seamlessly and efficiently across edge and core infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data Infrastructure & Distributed Systems: Design, build, and maintain high-performance data pipelines and distributed systems across edge and core infrastructure.

  • Containerized Microservices: Develop and deploy containerized microservices using tools like Docker, Nomad, Kubernetes, and Rancher.

  • Multi-Region Deployment: Provision and orchestrate multi-region deployments while managing configurations using Ansible, Consul, and Nomad.

  • Hypervisor Platforms: Manage and consolidate hypervisor platforms such as XCP-ng, vSphere, and Proxmox to standardize infrastructure and enhance reliability.

  • Message Streaming and Search Infrastructure: Maintain and optimize message streaming platforms like Apache Kafka and search systems such as Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

  • Database Management: Design, query, and optimize both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases to enhance performance and reliability.

  • Observability & Monitoring: Implement proactive health monitoring, alerting, and backup validation using Prometheus, Grafana, and associated observability frameworks.

  • Automation & CI/CD: Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, streamlining deployments and ensuring overall software quality.

  • Internal Web Applications: Own and maintain internal web applications built with Node.js and Angular. Deliver new features, resolve bugs, and drive framework and security enhancements.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex, full-stack issues spanning API/proxy layers, databases, and infrastructure systems.

  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams, documenting workflows and runbooks to improve incident response and foster knowledge sharing.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in designing and deploying containerized microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad, and Rancher.
  • Proven experience managing multi-region infrastructure provisioning and configuration with Ansible and Consul.
  • Hands-on experience with hypervisor platforms such as XCP-ng, vSphere, and Proxmox.
  • Solid knowledge of message streaming platforms like Apache Kafka and search infrastructure tools like Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
  • Proficiency in database systems, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis, with a focus on optimization and scalability.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, along with alerting mechanisms.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Strong development expertise in Node.js and Angular for web application maintenance and enhancement.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills for resolving issues across the tech stack.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes for knowledge-sharing and incident resolution.

Optional Skills:

  • Security and compliance knowledge in distributed systems.
  • Experience with serverless architecture and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps culture.

The annual base pay for this position is: $104,000.00 - $156,000.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
