Job Summary
The Pricing Specialist will support pricing and hedging activities for base metal transactions linked
to MCX and LME. The role involves coordinating with customers, brokers, sales, procurement,
operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate execution of pricing requests, hedge allocation,
trade reconciliation, and maintenance of hedge records. The ideal candidate should have a good
understanding of commodity markets, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced
trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Receive pricing instructions and buy/sell bids from customers and coordinate timely execution
through the designated broker.
2. Maintain the hedge book by recording all MCX/LME hedge positions against physical purchase
and sales transactions.
3. Monitor client pricing requests and allocate executed hedge positions to the respective physical
trades, inventory codes, customer contracts, or deal reference numbers.
4. Verify physical trade details including material, quantity, pricing basis, purchase price, sale price,
pricing status, and related commercial information.
5. Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Hedging teams for timely
exchange of trade information.
6. Reconcile hedge positions with broker trade confirmations, exchange reports, and internal
records.
7. Prepare daily pricing reports, hedge position reports, open pricing reports, and management
MIS.
8. Maintain complete documentation of pricing requests, hedge executions, trade allocations,
approvals, and supporting records in accordance with company SOPs.
9. Support reconciliation of pricing differences, Credit Notes (CN), Debit Notes (DN), and
hedge-related transactions.
10. Ensure compliance with internal risk management policies, pricing procedures, authorization
matrix, and hedging controls.
11. Monitor commodity market movements and key developments affecting base metal prices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of MCX Base Metals Trading.
• Understanding of commodity market dynamics and price movements.
• Basic understanding of the London Metal Exchange (LME) and its relationship with MCX pricing.
• Basic knowledge of foreign exchange (USD/INR) and its impact on metal pricing.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and numerical ability.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines in a dynamic trading environment.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
Experience
• 1–3 years of experience in commodity trading, commercial operations, pricing, procurement, or
hedging.
• Experience in base metals, commodity markets, or metal trading will be preferred.
Preferred Knowledge
• Base metals including Aluminium, Copper, Zinc, Lead, and Nickel.
• MCX pricing mechanisms and futures contracts.
• Basic understanding of LME pricing and international metal markets.
• Commodity hedging and risk management concepts.
• Physical commodity trading processes.
